Distribution

The last phase of the supply chain is the one addressed to the recipient. De Chirico Transport, among its services, also manages the distribution process of goods. The distribution egards all the process, during which the goods already stocked in our hub are finally sent to the Apulian Great Distribution or entrusted to door-to-door deliveries. Concerning the the large-scale retail channel, product categories involved are those of dry,fruit and vegetables , and the food sector.

Delivery rounds are also carried out with temperature-controlled vehicles, which can be 7.5-ton vans or small 12-ton enginesEach turn starts from a tailboard with the half full, which, at the end of the turn, can be managed by a courier or returned empty to the same tailboard. Distribution can be done in FTL (Full Truck Load) or LTL (Less Than Truck Load. FTL distribution is time-efficient, while LTL distribution is cost-effective.

Our FTL deliveries are fast and reliable: they allow you to load the goods at the sender and unload them directly at the recipient, resulting in time savings and a risk reduction of lot damage. LTL deliveries, on the other hand, however much they lose the advantage of fast delivery, have a lower transport cost as this is divided between the different senders. It is, in fact, a multi- destination transport in which the goods are loaded on a loading unit with a consolidation operation to reach several consignees.
